Good News Day

Every once in a while, I encounter some news that stops me in my tracks. I’m not talking about reality news that demonstrates just how out of whack we’ve become. I’m speaking about truly good, truly awe-inspiring news.

That’s what happened yesterday, when I was scanning Noozhawk, Santa Barbara’s only 100 percent internet-based newspaper with real reporters, not just an online version of a print newspaper. William McFadden is the founder and publisher. He’s a passionate guy living his dream, for a few years now.

What captivated my attention was the photo on the front page of a woman with a luminous smile. This victim of a hit and run accident, was smiling from her hospital bed, emanating light, despite all the harnesses and braces and numerous machines that keep her functioning.

The headline reads: “Santa Barbara Hit-and-Run Victim Embraces Future, Not Anger.”

SO INSPIRING. I’d love to face adversity with as much fullness and understanding. Take a read and please let me know what you think!
