Dark Horse

You probably have a particular person that opened new ways of thinking for you and seemed to show up in your awareness the moment you needed them most.

George Harrison has been one of my biggest teachers. Way back when I knew there had to be something more to life, George pointed the way, articulating truisms and ditties that mirrored my own yearning and understandings.

Here’s a stanza from Dark Horse, one of his medium known songs from his album by the same name. It’s been with me since 1974, the year I traipsed off to France to become a teacher of Transcendental Meditation.

I’m a dark horse
Running on a dark race course
I’m a blue moon
Since I stepped from out of the womb
I’ve been a cool jerk
Looking for the source
I’m a dark horse.

I am continually inspired to be the best i can be by those who surprise the world and comes from seemingly out of nowhere to win a race.
